Day 6 – Grand Canyon to Holbrook

Posted on Updated on

Today was a Grand Day! We started our day at Pine Country Diner for great breakfast. Then off to post office to mail some of our extras back home. Space is tight on the bikes! Then on the road to the Grand Canyon. This was a huge bucket list item for many of us and it exceeded our expectations! I hope some of pictures will do it justice. I really hope everyone reading this has seen it or will see it some day. Then we grabbed a quick sandwich on the way out of town. Drew and Cathy headed back to Vegas as they needed to head back home. We will miss them and the chase car! Back on the road to Winslow Arizona. I bet you can guess what we did there! Super fun stop. We got to our hotel in Holbrook Arizona after dark but it was another great day on the road. Total miles traveled is 270 for today.

Day 5 – Vegas to Williams, AZ

Posted on Updated on

We got an early start today and stopped off at the famous Welcome to Vegas sign for a photo.  As Mike and I are getting off the bike a group of Asian tourists approach and say “nice bike, we take picture?”  So we are like sure we will move our stuff out of the way. As we do this all the women in the group start taking their picture with Mike and hopping on our bike and posing for pictures. It was hysterical!  See attached photos.  After we composed ourselves we took our photos and headed towards Arizona. Riding through the mountains the views are amazing and at one point today I said to Mike it’s hard to take it all in but I’m doing my best. Then we rode into Oatman Arizona and it was the best little town ever! There are wild mules that roam the streets there and it’s set up like an old western town. We watched a dueling gun fight show.  After Oatman, we headed to Kingman, then on to Williams Arizona where we are stopped for the night. By the way the wind is INTENSE out here! Sunny but windy. Life isn’t all fun and games on the road we can only pack so much on the bikes so it’s laundry night. We drove about 295 miles today.
